Hey…Rebecca here at Polished Concrete University!
In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness, Polished Concrete University continues to honor women in the month of October! We are spotlighting women who are blazing a trail in an industry once dominated by men. Meet some of the women that have visited PCU this month and hear what they have to say…
Munique enjoyed PCU’s Polished Concrete class so much she returned to learn about epoxy floors and countertops. She loves the beauty and diversity of the colors which allows her to customize and create one of a kind floors and countertops. Munique & husband own and run Cordeiro Concrete Services in Louisiana where they polish concrete. She is now adding epoxy floors and countertops to the services they provide.
As a small business owner at Enzie Endeavors Art & Cutting Boards, epoxy is a material Nora uses often! But, as a full time Office Manager for a building contracting company, Concord Building Corp, Nora needed to learn how to incorporate her art epoxy knowledge into the construction aspect…and this is exactly what she learned at PCU’s Epoxy Floor class. Nora states that the course has given her information that will help in all of her future epoxy adventures in both art and construction.
Camille (click Camille’s name to see her Instagram), a life long learner, studied sculpture in Paris. As a decorator, she restored an old chapel in France where she lime washed the walls and learned stone and tiling. She also studied ancient Roman mosaics in Italy. While on a trip to New York City, she visited the Whitney Museum of American Art and was intrigued by a polished concrete wall which inspired her to take PCU’s Polished Concrete class this month. Camille states she took much away from the class including the difference between wet/dry grinding and how it relates to her work with stone, glass, and drilling into hard materials.
A BIG THANKS to women students and those who partner with PCU!! Here’s a shout out to Ginny with Spotlight Media, Victoria with NewLook, and Ashley with Ameripolish! Thanks for stopping by this month and sharing your expertise with our students at Polished Concrete University. We appreciate all you do!!
